The drive was to take 24 hours solely in the vehicle. It took four nights and five days. Along the way, I stopped in Chicago to visit a good friend and we went to a blues and jazz night club. Driving through Iowa was a pain but at one point I stopped to cool down my crappy car and three nice men stopped to ask if I needed help.

Once I reached South Dakota it was smooth sailing. I visited the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, and Crazy Horse and it sure was crazy! The night before I was to arrive to work for Habitat for Humanity I stayed at a bed and breakfast in Colorado Springs. On the drive to Woodland Park in the morning I was happily surprised to see how short of a trip it was from point A to B. Not only that but the drive was gorgeous and before I even arrived to the little town I knew I was finally home.
