The final coat of stucco went on today. We’ve been waiting a long time for a break in the rainy weather to be able to do this. July normally sees an average rainfall of 2.86 inches. This July we’ve already had 7.76 inches. That’s nearly three times normal, and it has taken its toll on our schedule at Las Casas.
Now that the exterior stucco is done and scaffolding is out of the way, we can move on to some of the other outside work, including concrete and asphalt for the parking lot.
Inside we are working on trim, doors, floors and appliances. Thanks again to Carpet Direct of Colorado Springs who is donating the labor to install flooring in Unit E. We need all the volunteers we can get to help with the other projects. Our hope is to complete these units in early August. So check your schedules and see if you could join us this week anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday, at 850 Forest Edge Rd. Come alone, bring a friend, bring a group of friends. Whatever your skill level, we will find something for you to do.
