We have an awesome lineup of “Studs” and auction packages for this year’s Stilettos & Studs event, including custom art, gourmet food, luxury vacations and more. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the distinguished gentlemen who will be “auctioned” off to the highest bidder.
Ben Caperton – you know him best as a retired policeman, Harley enthusiast, and wine aficionado – but on Nov. 1, we’ll be showcasing his artistic talent that may be less familiar. Ben has a fine arts degree from the Stephen F. Austin State University. He primarily enjoys working with oils and natural landscape pictures, often finding inspiration from his travels throughout Colorado and other vacation destinations, turning photographs into beautiful paintings and murals for his family and friends. You may have seen one of his biggest pieces – a large wall mural, some 10 feet wide by 22 feet high, that he created for the Catter residence as part of the 2007 Woodland Park Holiday Home Tour. If you’re looking for a special way to add a little color and art to your life, you’ll want to bid on this auction package from Ben. He is offering to paint a custom acrylic landscape wall mural (up to 4 feet by 8 feet) for your home or workplace. You get to pick the scene – it could be one of your favorite travel locations or some other outdoor image you’d like to capture indoors.
Carlos Macis is one of Woodland Park’s best-known restaurateurs and the chef extraordinaire at Carmen – A Tapas Grill & Bar. Over the years he has held true to his goal – “to always entice with interesting tastes and delights” – thus earning him a reputation for creating meals and cocktails that are unique and pleasing to the palate, gaining many new diners as well as a loyal clientele. A recent patron raved, “The ambience is sexy and cozy and makes me want to return to linger over a candlelit dinner and bottle of wine.” The menu at Carmen’s is richly influenced by the Latin American cuisine of Carlos’ native Honduras as well as his culinary experiences in San Diego and Colorado. Don’t miss the chance to bid on the special auction package that Carlos is offering – a four-course meal for four, custom-designed for you and your friends, and delivered in the exquisite style and quality you’ve come to expect at Carmen’s. Let Carlos and Carmen “WOW” you with their table-side preparations, from appetizer, to salad, entree, and dessert, each course paired with a complementary wine selection.
Gene Sperry has long been the “go-to” appraiser for anyone looking to buy or sell property in Woodland Park and Teller, Park and El Paso counties. His firm, Appraisal Associates, is well-known for providing excellent customer service that is tailored to meet the specific needs of its clients, including quick turnaround times for urgent assignments, comprehensive and accurate information for appraisal reports, and the utmost in confidentiality, accuracy and discretion. It is possible that one of the secrets to his success is the annual vacation he takes to Hawaii. For three months, every January to March, Gene slips away to his favorite getaway – a condo in the village of Waikoloa where he can “recharge his batteries” with the beautiful beach views, tennis courts, swimming pools, and golf courses. Gene wants to share this little piece of paradise with you and is offering up for our auction block a one-week stay at the condo. If you’ve ever wanted to spend time on the Big Island, now is your chance.
Kevin Werner is not only the successful manager of the Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek but also a dedicated sponsor of local charities, known for his generosity and willingness to “play a little wild”. Make no mistake, he is the consummate management professional with an impressive resume spanning positions in casinos from the Silver Reef Hotel in Bellingham, Washington, to the Desert Inn in Las Vegas before taking the helm at Wildwood in 2008. But he also knows how to have fun, and we’re honored that he has agreed to be a “Stud” at our event. If you haven’t already visited his beautiful Vegas-style casino, now is your chance. Kevin is offering the “Ultimate Gaming Package”. It includes five rooms at the Gold King Mountain Inn, dinner for 10 at Mavericks or the Saddle Bar, 20 percent off at GKMI for each guest’s next stay, $50 in “Wild Loot” or “Promo Chips” (per guest), and a personal blackjack table with dealer (three-hour maximum).
